Fallen Leaf

A fallen leaf nestled in the shadows,
Motionlessly still, reflecting its past.
Once as bright as the beautiful meadows,
Enjoying the sun whilst above the grass.
It danced along to the hum of the breeze,
But the rhythm changed and lost its beam.
Slowly, slowly, the warmth formed to a freeze,
It lost the warm colour of its seam.
A slam of the wind slaps onto its face,
And it fell softly, delicately, as lace.
No longer in warmth and near its friend,
The fallen leaf's story comes to an end.
