Smoke suffocating every living thing through the forest

Trees cry as they tumble one by one and beg for mercy

Shriveled leaves rattle, it’s another call for help

Kangaroos helplessly hop away as raging fire strikes

Innocent koalas losing faith up up in the gloomy trees

Bark tumbles to the ground

Branches relentlessly rumbling right through the forest

Bright vivid light blankets the sky

Fire rises so slow yet so fast

Tears tumbled down my cheek

I begin to whimper, wishing it’s a dream

The flames of fire flickering upon my eyes

Crimson and sapphire lights quiver quickly

I seek a glimpse of hope

Bushes tell me stories at night

They share their life history as I learn and listen
