Forest Red Gum

50 metres high, stretching to the sky,

Waves to the sun whilst saying Hi.

Standing, tall and clear,

for more than half its height. 

its sun bleached, bright branches,

getting bigger by the day. 

The stocky tree trunk,

reveals pink, blue and grey. 

The smell of Eucalyptus,

Is revealed from the bark,

this is scented even in the dark.

This tree is widespread along the coast,

Of mainland Australia,

Where it is called home,

At least that is for most.
