Forgotten People

Time sweeps past
Leaving everything in its path like dust
I don’t know
Who those people are
Because they are the ones we’ve forgotten
Vanished
With no warning
Left
Without a trace
Where do they go, those people we forgot?
Silently wandering? Waiting or lost?
Leaves broken, branches collapsed
We roam past
The calling memories.
The ghosts of the plants
That once lined the streets.
In the world of lost souls
No one makes
A tombstone
For a fallen tree.
