From Day One

Placed into my plastic crib,
You have been there all my life.
Memories of tight squeezes and long nights,
Are in every bead in your body.
Your towel-like texture is always there to dry my tears.
But you always show me there is happiness
Through your daffodil-yellow tinge.
You’ve hidden and been left behind
But you will never be forgotten.
You are my little ducky.
