Giant dragonfly

On an endless summer night

a shimmering lake lay under the moonlight

casting a glow that spilled on the water,

staining it crystal clear.

As a giant dragonfly skimmed through the flat,

silent water, swimming in the dark night sky

drawing its shadow on the trees,

moonlight bouncing off its iridescent scales.

The radiant glow shining through my window,

as it spills out its peaceful serenade

capturing its image as it fades into the morning sun,

its silhouette finally melts into the sun

bending an orange sky.
