Gouldian Finch

As I walk through the lush, green forest, 

the sun sets into the sea like a bright, yellow submarine. 

A delicate, rainbow finch flies towards the rising ball of light

while the sun gets submerged by dancing waves.

It swims through the endless sea of stars,

and blossoming trees become dark shadows,

chirping, flapping and singing

all the way into the night.

The Gouldian Finch lands on the grass,

the soft, green and warm floor.

Fireflies sparkle in the dark

like gems dotted around the sky.

The miniature bird stretches its feathers

while diving through the leaves.

It cries towards the horizon

and takes off with its tiny wings.
