Greater Glider

You soar above our trees, our native land,
We see your majestic wings slice through the air.
They’re the quiet but mighty type of animal,
The only sound they’d make is a swoosh through a silent night.
A Greater Glider is a beautiful sight!
A fussy physique and a tail as long as its body,
They’re unique and no one can top them.
But sadly it’s not all unicorns and rainbows,
There’s a sad deep truth, you’re going extinct.
You didn’t deserve this horrible fate,
Soon because of humans, we’ll wipe out your race.
What have you done to make us want to kill you?
You're innocent, helpless, humans are in the wrong.
We’re sorry, we’re sorry but that’s not enough,
But there is some light in all the darkness.
There’s nothing stopping us from trying,
We can still save all of the Greater Gliders from dying.
Local zoos have got programs in place,
All you need to do is give a hand,
And they can live in peace on this beautiful land.
