Half Court
By Laura H
At the half court, the ball is in my hands,
alone with my thoughts, my hand like a rubberband.
At the half court, the trees cast shadows,
I hear the birds chirping, while worms avoid the sun's arrows.
At the half court, I shoot and I score,
with lots of support around me I play once more.
