To feel the chilly kitchen tiles on my bare feet
or the cold, crisp air on my rosy, red cheeks
to touch the icy waterfall with my fingertips
or the sun-touched forget-me-nots
To wake in a winter wonderland
or sleep under the twinkling stars
oh to follow the moon
to reach for the sun in dark times
I wish to be home again
home among the apple trees
among the sour red berries and
the greenest of forest floors
I wish to stuff my frozen toes into ski boots
to jump across half-frozen creeks
to stumble across ice in glimmering blades
and sled down blinding white snow banks
I wish to return home
I wish to be consumed by the warmth of mother nature's hug
