A soft breeze blows past my ear

It ushers in my greatest fear

Darkness fills the corners of every room

Sending our world to its doom.

No flowers sprinkled through meadows

No dusty flakes of snow

Floating around

No vines overtaking the ground.

The dark midnight sky

Looks like it was splattered with white dye

To resemble the bright stars

That will likely scar.

While we sit in silence

There is a surveillance

Of nothingness —

For knowingness can hurt.

The sound of the clock slowly ticking away

Indicates that hope cannot go astray

For action is key

As humans have a responsibility.
