How Time Burns Away.

I remember seeing the luscious green field,
the ants marching through the grass,
the birds chirping through the trees,
the sunlight breaching the leaves, grasping the ground.
A silent breeze made them dance and party,
the smell of the forest familiar yet interesting.
Feeling the soft grass graze my feet,
the sun burnt my eyes as I saw the blurry plants.
I ate the nuts that fell off the tree.
I danced through the grass,
swinging sticks like swords,
imagining I was in a luxurious wonderland
where I'm never bored,
and the charming critters who were like a reward.
It feels like it's been a million years since I was a kid.
It's burnt, bruised and brutalised.
It’s disgusting and horrifying what they’ve done,
the forest has been ripped away,
all for the livelihood of those who take.
