I Cherish It

A shirt, so simple yet so meaningful
I cherish it.
A humble bee that has grown so much
walks to school, with colours of yellow and black
So proud of herself.
With a marker in hand, ready for messages
for her on the last day of primary school.
Year 6.
The smell of permanent marker wavering around her,
she can still smell it.
A taste of friendship and a photograph
Of nostalgic memories.
It was surrounded by cheers and cries
for those who are leaving.
Worn when given to her
a precious book of a dear teacher.
Many imperfections, washed patch, a message lost
a size too big, yet still so special.
These messages were delivered by a postman
Such a simple shirt,
I cherish it.
Most beautiful thing in my eyes, nothing can replace it.
Carefully, no damage was done.
