I had a flamingo, she stayed in my pool.

She was my best friend and a big fool.

We spent all of our days having fun in the sun.

It was then that I knew I had chosen the right one.

I had gone to the pet store, hoping for a dove,

But when I saw her, I fell in love.

She was so beautiful, in fact, flamingorgeous.

My need for her was so enormous.

So here I am, with a flamingo in my yard.

Most of the time, I loved it, but sometimes it was hard.

My parents find her terrifying, so what am I to do?

If I leave her with them too long, she’ll be back at the zoo.

But one day when I got home, I was shocked to find,

My poor flamingirl was gone, so many thoughts filled my mind.

Where is she? Is she okay?

I am never again leaving her with my parents all day.

I ran to my parents, but they didn't know.
They could’ve been telling the truth or putting on a show.
Either way, she was flamingone,
And for the rest of the day, all I did was mourn.
I thought she was gone forever.

I thought me seeing her again would be never.
But she was full of surprises, I should have known.
Because she came back, with a small clone.
A smile stretched across my face. She came back to me!
But this time, with a family, so I decided to let them be.
Although I had missed her, I was so happy for her.

She had a family of her own, who would stick around forever.
I held back my tears, trying not to cry,
And sadly waved flamingoodbye.
So off they flew, into the sunset,
And I went back inside, my cheeks wet.
