My name is Uluru,
I wake to the sound of
Kookaburra giggling
Wombats sniffing
Kangaroos hopping

The burning sun
Strokes my hard dusty red skin
l smell the fresh eucalyptus
People climbing on me
They feel like massive boulders
Sinking and denting my skin

My red rocky strong body
Gets danced on with rain
Burnt by fire
Cut by lightning

But I am proud to be Australia’s present
