Hot and radiant, the sun blazes in the sky

The heat bouncing back from the hot cement

And a light shade of blue, that stretches like a tent

With clouds watching over, no rain in mind

And a leaf drifting over, unlike its kind

Rays of light leap from trees to grass

And onto peddles of glitter, that shine on this flower

And birds who soar high, filled with power

Now my gaze shifts from left to right

Before closing my eyes

Taking in the light
