The tree slowly cracks

And falls as the koala watches his home plummet to the ground.

After a nasty blaze left their home bare and burnt.

The koala smells the bark and wood of the scalded tree, the scent filling the air.

Twigs fly into the air at impact to the ground,

All the dirt and dust filled the poor koala’s lungs.

His beautiful grey fur covered with ash from his now destroyed home.

The search for his new home is melancholy.

Every tree, unfit for a poor koala to live in.
