The monstrous creature deep inside 

No matter what I tried 

The monster called grief 

Gained control

Every time

The colourful forest underwater

Lets me rest

The way the whispering wind weaves the turquoise water

Keeps the monster at bay

White sand beaches and summer sunlight

Keeps the monster at bay

That summer has past 

But the memories remain

Whenever I close my eyes

My conscious rests 

At the Great Barrier Reef
