I entered the dark, deep forest,
Where people were forbidden to go,
They believed it was cursed,
But I believed no.

There were towering, tall trees,
Which blocked the sun’s light.
And wet, damp soil,
From the storm last night.
The breeze cooled my face,
And the songbird cawed.
The trees smelled of maple,
And the flowers of pollen.

I grazed the rough tree side,
And felt the soft petal of a rose.
I heard the insects chirping,
And how the great, big river flows.
This is my side of the dark, deep forest.
My side is neither dark nor deep but instead light.
