Is their life in the Ocean

As you fall through the surface,
You feel the cool wash over
The air getting harder to reach
The water covering your skin.
You enter another world, one with a blue tint.
You are wading through the once clean membrane,
Full of trash all the same.
A thing slides by your leg
Once a fish replaced by a plastic case.
We sucked the life out of the Ocean.
An Ocean once with more
Colours than there are on land
More creatures than fill the night
Now more plastic than a lifetime.
We sucked the life out of an ecosystem,
A thriving community,
A system once full of creatures.
Living beings
Swallowing our rubbish, swimming in our sewage
Surviving but not with their futures intact.
