It Starts With Me

Brushing my hair,
Looking tidy and neat,
A ponytail,
Casual enough for school.
Keen to get back,
Homework not so much,
Assignments galore,
I just can’t wait…
Rarely do girls go to school,
Things have changed,
Imagine a world where gender equality is number one,
Everyone should be treated equally.
Knowledge is power
And power is being able to change the world.
A girl without education is a bird without wings,
A sun that doesn’t shine,
A plane that doesn’t fly,
A body without a soul.
Boys can go to school, so why can’t girls?
