Janus

Two faced,
Double life.
On the surface;
Adventurous, yet eternally calm.
Deeper down,
He is not just this.
Frail, old and secretive.
What monsters, cryptids and demons is he hiding?
He has become an abyss;
Empty. Desolate.
What endless war ravages him so deeply,
That he must hide beneath a cloak of bright emotion?
What journey does he undertake?
In the end, it is infinite.
His troubles, forever cast in stone.
Unknown to all,
Except those close to him.
His essence,
Stolen by the creeping magma that is encasing his physical self.
We will never know what lies beneath.
