Believe a new bloom of spring
Opening one’s eyes to the spirited world mewling plaintively
Crystal blue iris illuminating strange features
Coating the world in an iridescent glow
Diamond claws adorned upon tingling titian paws
Flexing impatiently yearning to leap, bound, hunt…
Dappled pelt ever shifting, wavering, vanishing
Striped black with orange
Unto the neglected forest paths wandered only by beasts unknown
Rippling muscles tense, anticipating a chase
Power entailed as the Mother’s daughter pounced
Unsuspecting prey bowed into submission
Warm red tears traced trails down heaving sides
Satisfaction of the hunt roaring inside, threatening to break free
Thunder ripped, unearthly chords echoed through the desolate wild
‘neath the noble guise lay an innocent soul unsullied by man
‘neath the ferocity lay a vulnerable kitten
‘neath the fiery pleasure of blood lay a devoted companion
Home she sauntered, a deep throated hum emanating
As we curled up nestled in each other’s arms, folded with trust, home by the hearth
