As I walk through
this Victorian bush,
I look, just look
then I spy one.
so gray, so furry.
The round-eared
Koala up in its eucalypt
Tree branches. I stand for a
While to admire the tailless creature
And look at its round-faced features.
Reaching out munching and crunching
On eucalypt leaves. I stand there until
The sun's sinking, its eating is done,
It closes its eyes. Body is still.
Goodnight Koala.
