Koalas

Hiding in the trees,

Climbing and sleeping,

They dose all day,

Soft, grey fur,

They live in gum trees,

Living in the wild.

They reach out for food,

Stretching with two thumbs,

Eating eucalyptus leaves,

Sheltered by big branches.

Some are protected,

Some are safe,

Some are in danger,

Almost extinct.

Trees crashing down,

Fires blaze,

Taking wood for houses,

Their homes destroyed,

Koalas mourn with sadness,

Only some survive.
