Arching branches of all lengths, form a figure
A flourishing build, Lei
Frangipanis, yellow and scarlet, leisurely fell towards the earth’s surface
Dying as the winter arose
Gently, elegantly, slowly

Christmas and the coming years, came hastier than planned
Summer, streamed Vitamin D into our skin
I figured if Lei could talk, they would be happy
I hope Lei would be happy. Or something else,
Something more?

I wish I knew; I wish I could ask
Each day I wonder, I hope that Lei has life not too bland
As they are watching, waiting to speak, to be noticed, and acknowledged

But someday,
Their voice will be heard
They will be heard
Someday soon
