Life along the Murray River

The Mighty Murray River is a second home to me.
As it meanders onwards to the sea,
the river’s pebbles glisten in the shallows,
and from the edge, trees cast dancing shadows.
Many eyes admire its idyllic location,
however, many only visit on a special occasion.
I am lucky to live right next to the Murray River…
It is also home to fish and animals that slither,
and to many species of birds,
it really can’t be done justice in words.
This truly beautiful river is my home too,
and it must be protected and cared for through and through,
not just for some…
but for the many generations to come.
