Life Cycle

The sun surfs up through the sky,
lighting up the darkened world in golden light,
shining its all-seeing light.
At first, you see the glittering dew hanging off the grass in delicate droplets, then, the flowers unfurl their wing-like petals, looking up to the sky to greet the day.
The animals slowly wake after a deep sleep, butterflies flying up and fluttering about, their wings like stained glass, bathing the earth in bursts of colour, giving the other beings the gift of colourful lights.
But, the cycle needs to continue; the sun, feeling tired after the day
of sharing gentle rays of warmth with the animals and plants
must sink down and give the moon a turn.
The sunsets, painting the skies in golds, pinks, and oranges, giving the moon a spectacular welcome.
The day gives way to the inky black of night, dotted with glowing sequins illuminating the sky,
Slowly, the crevice of the moon appears.
Land, sea and sky alike fall back into slumber.
The night-beings embrace the world’s continuous beauty.
The flowers curl back into buds, saying their farewell to the day, ready to rest.
The moths flit about, searching for glowing lights,
their silken wings raining moondust down to the earth.
Harmonised, this makes the beauty of the place we reside.
No thing overtakes the other.
Making a world paradise for every soul, big and small.
Giving us the delicate wings of freedom and beauty.
