Wondering through the forest

I could not be more lost

Though a strange place

The warmth holds me in an embrace

Like home

The brown crumpled leaves fall all around me

The beauty in the simplicity

If only they gave safety

Like home

As soon as I begin to droop

The birds start to swoop

I envy the nest they live in

Their stronghold, their bunker, their castle

Like home

I lay down on the soft grass

Though unusual, it’s enough

Like home

Wondering through the forest

I could not be more lost

That’s fine
