We are lions,

We used to roam the grasslands,

and savannahs of Africa

before the humans arrived.

Now we are trapped in cages,

In unfamiliar places

One day we are living peacefully, then the next we are taken

By big scary humans with tools and guns

Suddenly we are on a big machine,

made of iron and steel,

flying high in the air for hours on end.

Now we are in dreadful, restricting prisons,

with no chance of freedom.

What did we do to you?

We beg and plead to be released

We are living things just like you.

We don't deserve this,

We want to be treated with respect.
