Lone Survivor

I’m a wounded soldier.
I’ve been squished in a dark and wet cave;
I’ve fallen down a never ending chasm;
And have faced the giant spinning blades.
Only half of me survived.
That big black and white thing;
He has turned my life into torture.
I remember the days when I was a new recruit;
They told me it would be as tough as a brick wall.
But as I was young, I didn’t believe them.
The constant pain is wearing me out.
With the only relief being when I fly;
Fly as high as the white things that magically float.
I wish I could be taken from the front line;
I could rest and enjoy my life.
But that will never happen.
