Lorikeet, a cheetah within the sky,

A flying kaleidoscope of colour

Soaring through the forest, spying on nature from above,

Manoeuvring through the trees like a multicoloured rocket.

His squawk as deafening as an orchestra of thunder and lightning,

Ascending under the green shelter of leaves,

His wings propel, as rapid as a race car,

The sun's strong radiant glow, like a gleaming gold medal on his chest.

An unknown predator follows closely,

His mouth open, wide as a tunnel

A spiteful and vicious glint in his eyes,

And then…

Gone. Rainbow feathers lay scattered on the ground.
