Glistening

Shining bright,

Transforms a once dismal night

Silver coin

On an inky silhouette,

Calls forth from place so desolate

Mysterious

Reticent and elusive presence,

Rises and ebbs with synchronous essence

Latterly,

your gaze is withheld,

Withheld by the blanket of man’s err

Suppressed by the suffocation of greed

Of unparalleled selfishness

The fires of man consume at the world

Contaminate the clear skies

And keep you hidden from view

Hopeful,

through reparation and concern

I await your return.
