Manly Dam

The water on the lake glistens and is as bright as the sun.
The reeds dance in the water, having lots of fun.
The water sits calmly, listening to all the secrets that have been told around her and she keeps them for hundreds of years.
She comforts people when she sees their tears.
But soon it may not be there.
The trees; tall and strong, they watch over like the fathers of Manly Dam.
The trees have their own community, and they talk to each other and are always welcome for people who need cover.
They sway in the wind whispering and telling all the stories of the people that have been here before us.
They care for everyone, but because we keep cutting them down and killing them, they will soon turn to dust.
We can't keep polluting our planet and killing beautiful trees.
We can’t keep killing our important animals like small helpless bees.
We can’t keep spilling oil into the ocean and making it cry.
If we keep spilling oil into it, it will surely die.
Manly Dam is a special place.
We can’t keep polluting and killing it.
We say we’ll fix it, we say it's fine but deep down inside it's making us cry.
We keep killing the planet and we will die.
