Looks like the medieval shield
That the king once wielded
1000 years ago.
It has the Australian symbol
That we still use today
This medal has an old red ribbon
Majestic as a king’s crown
It was my great, great grandfather's
Medal of appreciation
To be in Parliament
When Australia
Our home
Joined the Commonwealth
On May the ninth
1901.
The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York
Gave it to my great, great grandfather
This medallion makes me proud and happy but
sad.
