Where the sky is set to silver by the waxing, waning moon

And where the sun is chased away,

I stood there waiting for you,

Where the birds sing their sweet, sorrowful song

And where the marigolds bob in the breeze

I waited for you

Where dawn creeps closer,

And where the poppies play

I waited for you

And as the marigolds urged me on

And the silvery light of dawn shone

I waited for you

As your parting words were whispered

A jewelled drop fell from my face,

The marigolds quivered with apprehension,

As I rose to my feet and waited,

And as the milky dawn light faded

We met in the marigolds.
