Metamorphosis

Encased;
A stone tomb in which I lie,
Eyes locked in serene state.
Hidden cries,
Trapped by eternal depths.
Waves of sand,
Endlessly washing.
A family of unknown,
Our fate to forever hide.
Lost and alone,
No voices to speak;
Sitting in silence,
Faces withering bleak.
A line of selves we sit,
Awaiting our turn.
Crashing in time,
The rhythmic tide pulls.
An infinite mirror,
With reflections of sunken souls.
Screams fill my ears,
Desperation heard.
Thoughts of saviours,
Who never return,
Who will never come.
