Metamorphosis

Slowly, extend arm to the darkness
The limb will elongate
Sprouts, humble and naive, will
carefully come out of their hiding
Deafened by the tumultuous world
Make them resist.
Firmly, ground foot into the earth
The trunk will separate
Roots along invisible canals will
flow, anchoring safely always.
Turn crown towards the faithless blue
Rising up until it intertwines with the stars
in one untieable knot.
Face exterior rind to the infallible gale
The core will harden, crevassing and
isolating inner from the outer forever.
The pain will not cease, but it will
become clouded rain. The fuel for growth.
In eternal tranquillity, sleep the
Deathless dream.
