Monkey Swamp

Through the murky mud I stomp,
a sign slowly sinks into the gloom.
I think the sign said Monkey Swamp,
so I continue walking underneath the moon.
I am soon approached by a strange monkey,  
and he holds up a sign with a banana.
I instantly know that it’s the evil Lunky,
with his scary red bandana.
I fly through the air and am tossed in a ravine,    
but manage to grab onto the ledge.
This peaceful place used to be so serene,
but now I’m dangling off a rocky cliff edge.
He walks up to me to deal the final blow,    
but then a monkey jumps in front of me,    
and tumbles into the abyss below,    
along with some debris.
I do a backflip onto debtor Lunky,
And draw my sword and my gun.
For he was the one that killed a monkey,    
I yell “What have you done!"
