The dog runs fast and dips his paws in the sand

Red hot in midday sun and scorching heat.

He finds  his master resting cool and tanned

Near huts so bright, colourful, square but neat.

Where kids grab shorts and shake their towels sand-free

And grab their thongs to save their feet from burns.

With his drink flask to his lips, he drinks with glee

And waves away a hungry flock of terns.

Both dog and boy survey the beach and bay

Enjoying the view, the air, the salt, the sun

And run with peace and joy through waves away,

Beneath seaweed, white foam ripples, such fun!

Mt Martha reigns in beauty, fun and flair

the beach perfect for all going there.
