My Animals

Close to my heart they stay,
been with me since the day I came.
White and pink like the pearls on the ocean floor,
go in and out of adventures.
Keeping me safe when I’m dreaming,
scaring all the monsters away.
Been there for days,
gone through thick and thin.
4 little paws sit on my bed,
4 more sit beside.
On trips, on holidays,
staying with me forever.
Waiting for and seeking me,
wondering off into the sunlight.
I close my eyes and know I’m safe,
feeling them right beside me.
Hearing what I’m thinking,
feeling what I’m feeling.
Taking the stress away,
never leaving my side.
