At home I have a bear,
Which I love,
And she is special to me.
She used to be so beautiful,
Now she looks so pitiful.
The teddy bear is white,
With dark eyes,
She has a lot of holes in her fur.
How precious she is to me,
Is like how precious a gem is.
My grandma and grandpa gave her to me,
When I was just a little girl,
I’ve had her since then.
Of all my things at home,
She is my very favourite.
My life she came to share,
The day she became my Bed Bear,
And now she’s part of the family.
All night every night,
She waits till it gets light.
As her gaze sweeps over my bedroom,
She knows that soon I will be there,
So she is not in this lonely house by herself.
I’m her sanctuary, her keeper,
And she is safe with me.
As she waits, a small mouse,
Waiting for something,
Anything,
It helps keep her from being bored.
As the day goes on,
She gets tired as the hills.
She watches through the hazy days,
As she passes through a faze,
Staring, staring.
Sometimes she might hear noises,
Bang!
Like people breaking in.
All her time is spent alone,
Her, forever, I will own.
