My Comp Bathers

The draw is open
That old familiar smell
In the corner
Sits an old green net bag
Inside, lonely, cold are my comp bathers
Today is race day
I slide them on
Damp, firm and tight against my skin
Excitement, adrenaline-SPLASH!!!
A long deep breath
Slicing through the water
Bubbles blazing down my body
We skims the water
Humid air kisses my skin
My heart dancing in my chest
Heavy breathing, the race is on
Muffled cheering and squealing
I dig deeper and deeper
An outstretched arm, I slam the wall
My name in lights, I am first
