Whose dog is that? I think I know,
Its owner is a quite happy fellow,
Full of joy like a vivid rainbow,
I watch him laugh. I cry hello,
He gives his dog a shake,
And laughs until his belly aches,
The only other sound's the break
Of distant waves and birds awaken,
The dog is energetic, cute and deep,
But he has promises to keep,
After cake and lots of sleep,
Sweet dreams come to him cheap,
He rises from his gentle bed,
With thoughts of his dog in his head,
He eats his jam with lots of bread.
Before I go, I look at his face behind the cut-glass,
I see his white and brown face staring at me,
I tell him hello then walk away being honoured,
Then I’m ready for the tough day ahead.
