My First Toy in Australia

1. Yellow and Black, Plastic and aluminium
The Colour of the Sun and the darkness of night
As big as my two hands, a miniature dump truck
Fully working, nine years old
Yet still has no mold.

2. Joyfully playing with my dump truck
Rolling on 4 wheels, and carrying small objects in the back of it
With a brown stain from dirt it is an object of sentiment to me
Now not frequently in use by me trying to preserve this piece of beauty.

3. Crash!
I did not care of damage when I was young
Now I treasure keeping it in good quality
When I first saw this toy, it caught my eye
Very bright and colour not dull
And still the same to this very day.

4. Unlike the many hundreds of other toys, I used to own
This is the most sentimental for it is the first
All other toys I owned are broken and paint scraped off
This is one of the many that stay in good condition.

5. This toy dump truck sits now in my cupboard
Unused gathering dust to be preserved
To let the colours, stay bright and stay
Untouched by human hands.
