My Fluorite Egg

My fluorite egg
Mauve aqua and turquoise
The colours race over the surface
Like the storms swirling on Jupiter.
Light pooling on the table
And dancing through the
Multi-coloured stone,
Balancing on its Perspex stand.
Handed to me by my mum
One Easter it has sat on my shelf
Ever since gathering a
Jacket of dust.
The lime green card that
It was delivered with
Described its properties
Like ‘Psych Protection’.
Filled with memories like
The light streaming through it.
My fluorite egg.
