Sitting on my shelf is my glass doggy and it dazzles in the daylight sun.
Her body reflects as the sun’s light touches it.
My glass dog makes me feel safe through the long hours of the night.
I was in the bathroom when my dog slipped out of my hands and
It smashed as it hit the tiled floor.
I almost screamed and tears rolled down my cheeks.
My mum and dad dashed into the bathroom.
I picked up the head.
The glass cut my finger.
My finger began to bleed.
After crying a waterfall I went to bed.
I cried myself to sleep.
I was told that I was getting a new glass animal the next day.
The school day dragged on as I waited for the day’s end.
Finally the school day finished.
I spied the white Toyota car and I sprinted up the stairs.
I ripped open the white packaging and my eyes sparkled,
As I pulled out my new glass doggy.
Even though my other dog will always be in my heart.
I can look forward to new adventures with my new doggy.
