My Gum Tree

I watch my gum tree every day 
Watering him so he doesn’t go away 
I whisper into his trunk like ear
You are my friend I’m always here
I watch the clouds creep away
I listen intently 
To my tree's wisdom 
From when he was a seedling 
Oh I really do love my gum tree 
I see him everyday 
Watching me on the hill
