My Little Town

When I drive past
This tiny little town
The fireworks explode
The butterflies go crazy
And my heart beats like a drum
The views are like a painting
And the buildings, like a map
A single tear slides down my cheek
And pulls me into the past
Where I remember memories
That I thought were long forgotten
I remember all the years
All the years, I spent there
And the emotions turn upside down
While the beating drum breaks
The butterflies drop dead
And the fireworks fade away
For when I drive past this tiny little town
I remember, when it was mine
