My Locket

2011 Christmas day
We opened the presents
The one I opened last
Was small compared to others
Inside the wrapping was a box.

The box was navy blue
Inside it said ‘Prouds’
There was a white velvet stand
The stand held something shiny and gold.

It was a locket
As pretty as could be
It opened up to hold two photos
The back had a message addressed to me.

My locket is very special
I do not wear it a lot
But every time I do
It becomes closer to my heart.
